Bruin’s Marauders is one of the older guilds
on this server, and highly respected. Never a large guild, we do still
accomplish large things. We constantly group together, and give meaning to
the term ‘family guild.’ If you’re looking for an uber raiding guild,
BM is not for you. We do raid at least once per week, and can easily handle
epics in house. If you’re looking to make some great friends in a very
mature setting, and want to keep Everquest fun, maybe you should check us
out.
Charter
- Our primary goals are to provide our guild with an atmosphere where
we can have fun, explore, and develop our characters. We will accept
all races and all classes. We look for commitment, loyalty, patience,
maturity, honor, courage, humility, and above all putting guild brethren
above thyself.
- Roleplaying is not required, however it is encouraged, appreciated and
respected.
- When on as a guilded character the guild should always come first. We
give more than we take; we help out those who need it. We don’t ask
for much, but loyalty is a must. Respect the chain of command. The
officers earned their positions and deserve the respect.
- If you are in need of an item or have an item to give, please post in
the Vault (on our message board). Do not beg members and officers for
free items or to be twinked. We do have a guild armory and will loan
items when possible by what is listed as wanted in the Vault. We also
keep a wish list -- one character per player can post one item they
would like assistance with. (This is used to help members get what they want
and to assist with setting up raids and keeping the guild active).
- New recuits need to be level 12 to be invited to join the guild. The
reason for this is people start characters, decide they don’t like them
and they delete them. That makes it really hard for us to keep track of
who is really in the guild. If someone takes the time to play the character
this far, you know they will continue to play him/her. This requirement
can only be bypassed with the Guild Leaders' Approval.
- Recruitment will be a slow and careful process. The Officers needs sufficient
time to evaluate potential candidates to insure their goals are in alignment
with ours. However, when we do find someone with the same goals as ours, we
do not hesitate to bring them into the guild. ALL new recruits are on a 60-day
trial period for the benefit of both parties.
- Upon acceptance, the Guild Officers will guide new recruits toward their
acclimation into the guild. Any questions can be answered by your OIC
(Officer In Charge) or your sponsor. You will allso be required to register
your character with guildmagic and join Bruin's Marauders there, and to keep
an eye on our guild message boards, as that is where all events, news and
info will be posted.
- It is expected of all members to assist when they can , however just because
someone has teleport, resurrect, locate corpse, etc. does not mean they are
at your beck and call to do these things. You may "request assistance" with
these things and usually a guildmate has will assist if they can.
- If the guild has an official event (hosting or being invited to a raid, language
faire etc) and you have a character of the apropriate level and have no prior
engagements or real-world demands to keep you from going, you are required to
attend.
- A reasonable request by an officer should be carried out as soon as possible
(a reasonable request DOES NOT MEAN "camp this for me"). It would be more like
since your in the area can you help soandso find his corpse.
- Keep the guild channel talkative, but not filled with spam. In other words
don’t hesitate to ask advice, get a price check, look for people to group
with etc. using guild channel.
- Use of /anon IS UNACCEPTABLE! If you like you may use /roleplay instead. Show pride
in your guild-tag!
- Any problems, concerns or ideas should go through the propper channels.
(the chain of command is class OIC, first sergeant, executive officer,
commanding officer)
- Represent the guild with pride and in a way as to give the guild a good name.
Acts of unacceptable behavior include:
- Asking repeatedly for free stuff (the giving of free items by another guild
member is an act of kindness and is not expected).
- Trashing guild members, through guild, tells, /ooc’s or /shouts.
- Excessive cursing over the guild channel.
- Excessive whining and griping (we all gripe occasionally, though).
- Asking repeatedly to be Power-Leveled (if a member agrees to power
level you, that is their choice, but asking member after member
is unacceptable).
Removal:
- Abusing the guild and its members will also subject you to removal.
- Characters that go missing in action may be subject to removal unless they
become active or found.
Members are encouraged to report offenders to the first available officer. Officers
are then to report this action to the Guild Leader. If you have a problem with another
member, please try to work it out. If the problem can not be worked out, please feel
free to ask an officer to help you with the problem.
Joining Our Guild
Our requirements for membership are as given below. If you meet these
requirements and wish to apply for membership in our guild, use
this form.
- If you don't yet have any characters in the guild, you must
be at least level twelve.
- If you already have a character in the guild, any other character
must be at least level eight.
- You must have an up to date profile with http://www.magelo.com.
Process
Everyone looking to join Bruin’s Marauders is required to fill out an
application.
We also need to group with you a couple times before an invitation can be
extended. This is used as a feeling-out period, so that you can see what
we’re about as a guild, and we can see if you would fit within the dynamics
of our guild. The easiest way to ensure this is to join our application
channel in game, (/join BMApp) and introduce yourself. You can also use this
as a way to get to know members of our guild. Sometimes the channel is quiet,
so please, make your presence known.
After a couple group, or a couple raids, the decision on whether to extend an
invitation will be made. We will let you know either way.
**Some notes on filling out your application
We encourage you to spend a few minutes on your application – this is the
easiest forum to tell us about yourself and your characters. You can include
things like:
• How long you’ve been playing
• What guilds you have been in
• What you’re looking for
• The story of your character (if
you are a role-player)
• Your playtimes/playstyles
• If you list some members of
Bruins Marauders that you have grouped with in the past, and feel might
recommend you, we can use their input to come to a speedier conclusion about
inviting you.
